Biography

In 1975-1982, Koller worked as a researcher at the Institute of Applied Linguistics and the Institute of the German Language and Literature Studies in Erlangen. At the same time, in 1999-2005, he worked as a press secretary at the Department of Basic Specialities of the Virtual University in Bavaria. In 2001-2007, Koller was the Head of the Section of the complex project on development of opportunities for eLearning at the universities of Bavaria. He was invited to give lectures at Ain Shams University (Cairo) and the University of Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

Koller’s scientific interests focus on computer graphematik, syntactic analysis of texts in a “person—machine” dialogue.

Koller is the author of scientific articles and reviews, four monographs, including his teaching aids for Ukrainian students majoring in the Germanic languages. In 1993-2004, Koller was the Head of the DAAD program (Germanistische Institutspartnerschaften) at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Since 2000, he has been a member of the annual meetings of scholars in Germanic studies in the “Nurnberg House” in Kharkiv. In 2002-2003, Koller was a coordinator of the Leonhard-Euler Scholarship Program for the best students of Kharkiv. In 2007-2008, he was a coordinator of the Tempus project “Promoting Student Self-Government: from the Post-Soviet to the European Model”. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Ukrainian Association of German Research.
