Moscardini’s scientific interests cover mathematical modelling, information technologies. He is the author of several monographs and more than 100 publications, including the ones published in the International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling, Kybernetes, System Dynamics Review, Organisational Transformation and Social Change, International Journal of Applied Systemic Studies, Artificial Intelligence and Applications, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and in the compendia of the IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics.

Moscardini is an expert of international educational programs of the European Commission, the President of the Metaphorum Group (to develop Stafford Beer’s works), the scientific advisor of the British consulting company NAC (North-East Regional Development) and the company Nissan, coordinator of 11 international projects on the program of the British DFID Board and the European Tempus Tacis Commission.

In 2001-2004, Moscardini supervised the work “Founding New Master Speciality for Classical Universities of Ukraine” at three national Universities of Ukraine (Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv). Within the framework of the project, the faculty members undewent internships at the University of Sunderland, and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece); the universities of Ukraine open a new Master’s speciality “Applied Economics”.
