Biography

Kuchma was a member of the Parliament (1990-1994), in 1992-1993 — the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the President of the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (1992-1994), the co-Head of the Constitutional Commission (Constitution of 1996). In 1994-2005, Kuchma is the President of Ukraine, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

Kuchma is a PhD in Technical Sciences (1990), full professor (1992), author of many inventions and scientific and technological works, as well as the books “Believe in the Ukrainian People” (2000), “Ukraine is not Russia” (2003), “Thoughts about Economic Reforms in Ukraine” (2004), “After the Maidan” (2007), “Steps of the National Economy Development in 1994-2004” (2004) and others.

Academician of Engineering Academy of Ukraine, Doctor Honoris Causa of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (1998), Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University (2001), Chernihiv State Technical University (2011) and many other higher educational and scientific institutions.
