Biography
Shifrin is the founder of a new scientific trend in radiophysics, namely statistical antenna theory (SAT). This theory allowed to fully research the properties of real antennae that are in fact radiating systems with random sources. Hewas the first in the USSR to carry out fundamental experiments of distant tropospheric radio wave scattering. Shifrin has developed the general theory of antennae with lumped elements. He has created his own scientific school that is world leading in the field of antennas with non-linear elements.
Shifrin is the author of about 300 scientific works, including 16 monographs and a number of inventions. His monograph “Problems of Statistical Antenna Theory” is widely known among scientists.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Radiotechnics Journal and many other professional editions.
Shifrin is the organizer and President of the Ukrainian National Association Antennae.
