In 1988 she defended her PhD thesis on “Environmental mapping: status, trends, prospects” at the Institute of Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Since 1988 he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Physical Geography and Cartography of Kharkiv National University. V.N. Karazin, and since 2007 he heads his native department.
She made a significant contribution to the formation of scientific bases of regional environmental mapping (with her participation the world’s first series of medium-scale ecological and environmental maps of the region and city), methods of structural and logical modeling, substantiation of the system of indicators, characteristics and symbols for ecological and environmental cartography.
Her research interests include the development of scientific bases for systemic regional ecological and environmental mapping, the creation of medical and ecological maps and atlases, cartographic works for children, maps of the criminogenic situation in the regions. Along with active research, VA Peresadko teaches a number of disciplines of the topographic-cartographic cycle: “Topography with the basics of geodesy”, “Cartography”, “Cartographic method of research”, “Cartographic analysis of geographical phenomena” and others.
Author and co-author of about 200 publications, including monographs, articles, textbooks and manuals for high school and high school, reference books used in the creation of nature conservation maps. She was awarded the medal of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for the best scientific student work, diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the badge “Excellence in Education”, winner of the All-Ukrainian competition for the best textbook on tourism and local lore in 2001.
In 2009 she defended her doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Geography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on “Scientific bases of regional ecological and environmental mapping”.
