Biography

Heiets established and developed a scientific school in macroeconomics (theory and models of economic forecasting) and finance (finance safety, budget and debt policy, taxation and tax incentives of the economy development). He grounded the long-term economic development strategy for Ukraine; came up with a new concept of economic growth under instability.

Heiets is the author of more than 400 works, including 35 monographs, six of which are personal. Heiets was a non-staff advisor of the President of Ukraine in macroeconomy (1994-2000), a member of the Supreme Economic Board under the Office of the President of Ukraine (1997-2001), a member of the National Anti-Corruption Committee, the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine (since 2005, in 2005-2007 — Head), the Consulting Board on the Development of Agriculture and Rural Territories under the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Board of Investors and Scientific and Expert Collegium on Social and Economic Development under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. the scholar is also a member of the Board on Science and Scientific and Technical Policy under the Office of the President of Ukraine, a member of the Section of Socio-Humanitarian Sciences of the Committee of State Prizes of Ukraine in Science and Technology, the Head of the Expert Сommittee of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) of Ukraine and other governmental and public institutions.
