Eremenko’s scope of research covers interaction of electromagnetic radiation with magnetic regulated crystals, phase transformations in them. He has discovered a number of new magnetooptical effects and the intermediate state in antiferromagnetiс and ferromagnetic crystals. Eremenko was the first in the world to observe the existence of exciton and impurity complexes. He founded the school of magnetooptics and spectroscopy of antiferromagnetiсs.

In the recent years, Eremenko has received significant results in the field of high-temperature superconductivity, highly correlated electron systems and nanomagnetism.

Eremenko is the author of more than 500 scientific works, including his widely popular textbook “Lectures on Magnetism” and monograph “Introduction into Optical Spectroscopy of Magnetics”.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Physics of Low Temperatures (1990), a member of the Editorial Board of the Cambridge Scientific Publishers (Cambridge, England),Space Science and Technology (Kyiv), Physics of Solids (St. Petersburg).
