Biography

In 1997-1998, Prezhdo was a researcher of the School of Chemistry of Yale University (USA), in 1998 −2003 — an assistant professor and in 2003-2006 — an associate professor, in 2006-2010 — full professor of the University of Washington (Seattle, USA). Since 2010, he is a full professor with distinction at the University of Rochester (New-York State, USA). He worked as an invited professor at the universities of France, Japan, at the German Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (Dresden).

As a scientist Prezhdo specializes in the analytical theory and large-scale calculations of dynamic properties of nano- and biosystems in photochemistry, photoactive materials and use of solar and other alternative energies. Prezhdo has developed the model of biological non-developed connection, offered the mechanism of retinol isomerization in the dark, come up with an effective method of determining the DNA structure using graphene nanopores, thoroughly studied the influence of the system order on the liquid/gas transit phase.

Prezhdo is the author of 240 publications.
