Semynozhenko’s scientific interests cover materials science, superconductive materials. He is an advocate of the active public policy in the field of innovative development, increased state allocations for science and education. He supports the idea of uniting technological and innovative potentials of Ukraine and Russia to ensure rapid economic growth.

He is the author of more than 500 scientific works and inventions, including books and monographs, more than 80 patents and inventions.

Honorary Citizen of Kharkiv (2010), Merited Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2008); two-time laureate of National Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology (1992, 2000), laureate of International Prize in Nuclear Physics (1999).
