The Academic Board of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has held its regular meeting with the participation of the University President, Vice-Presidents, deans, directors of its research institutes and subdivisions and student self-government representatives.
The meeting began with awarding V. N. Karazin Medals on the occasion of the anniversary to the Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics of the School of Mathematics and Computer Sciences Anatolii Rutkas, the Head of the Department of History of Ukraine of the School of History, Volodymyr Kalinichenko. The badges of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine “High Achiever in Education of Ukraine” were presented to the Head of the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Applied Economics of the School of Economics, Tamara Merkulova, the Head of the Department of History of Russian Literature of the School of Philology, Iryna Moskovkina.
The Vice-President Volodymyr Pakharenko reported on the University’s readiness for the autumn and winter period in the 2017/2018 academic year. The speaker said that in general the plan had been carried out. According to Mr. Pakharenko, the relevant issue at the moment is autonomous power supply and building autonomous power stations for the subdivisions.
During the meeting, those present heard the report of the Vice-President for Research and Teaching, Mykola Azarienkov, on the interaction between the physics-oriented schools and the School of Computer Sciences, the development of academic, scientific, and methodological work at the schools, the interaction with the Student Research Society, students’ participation in various Olympiads, etc.
Following the discussion, the Vice-President's report was found satisfactory.
