On University’s International Activity

The Academic Board of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has convened its regular meeting.

Within the framework of the event, commendations were awarded to the University staff who had voluntarily contributed to the construction and installation of the monument to Petro Hulak-Artemovskyi.

Besides, the Director of the Unicourt Tennis Club, instructor of the Department of Physical Training and Sports, Valerii Burko, was honored for his significant contribution to the University life development.

The Director of the Center for International Cooperation, Iryna Shteimiller, reported on the international activities of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. She acquainted those present with the current foreign partnership agreements, with the implementation of the Erasmus + program, including its key areas — Key Action 1: Educational or Academic Mobility, Key Action 2: Cooperation Projects (ex-Tempus), Jean Monnet Program, and dual diploma programs.

“Currently, the University has 271 agreements with foreign partners from 54 countries of the world, 150 of which are active,” said Iryna Shteimiller.

The Vice-President for Research, Viktor Katrych, spoke about the work on enlisting the University’s academic periodicals in the international scientometric database.

He also acquainted those present with the basic requirements for academic periodicals to be considered by expert committees and accepted into the international scientometric databases: websites informing on a publication, adherence to editorial policy, a certain number of publications and quotes, the h-index of editorial board members, number of publications by geographical coverage, periodicity, etc.

The Deputy Director of the Central Scientific Library, Valentyna Mohonko, reported on filling the University’s repository with theses, theses for obtaining academic degrees, and graduates’ qualifying papers.

The Academic Board also supported the candidature of the Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the winner of Shevchenko National Prize, the People’s Artist of Ukraine, Viktor Kovtun, for awarding the title “Doctor Honoris Causa of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University”.
