Azhazha’s main scientific interests cover refining methods for metal; vacuum and supervacuum metallurgy; physics and materials studies of pure and superpurity metals (one of the founders of this field).

Azhazha discovered the phenomenon of magnetic breakdown in ruthenium, gigantic oscillations of the thermomotive electric force, new regularities of influence of trace contaminants and alloying on the characteristics of structural materials of atom energy. He solved the problems of radiation stability and cold brittleness of structural alloys of atomic energy and beryllium. the scientist works out new technologies of producing alloys of zirconium and hafnium for atomic energy of Ukraine.

Azhazha is the author of more than 500 scientific articles, five monographs, more than 30 patents and certificates of invention.
