His service at Kharkiv Cathedra was marked by opening of Pokrivsky Monastery in Vodiane Village, and St. Archangel Michael Convent in Lozova. In 1994, the Kharkiv Eparchial News newspaper resumed its circulation. In 1993, Nicodemus opened a religious school renamed into Kharkiv religious seminary. He devoted a lot of attention to restoration of ancient churches and erection of new ones. Since 1977, Nicodemus was a member of the USSR-Mexico Friendship Society, since 1979 — a member of the USSR-Canada Friendship Society, and the National Writer’s Union of Ukraine, an honorary member of its Kharkiv organization.
