Peletminsky’s scientific interests cover different fields of theoretical physics: theory of magnetism, statistical physics, physics of irreversible processes, physics of solids, physics of quantum liquids and crystals, classical and quantum electrodynamics, cosmology. in each field the scientist obtains fundamental results. In 1956, in cooperation with Aleksander Akhiezer and Victor Bar’yakhtar, he discovered the phenomenon of magnetic and acoustic resonance. He is the founder of the scientific school of statistical physics.

Peletminsky is the author of more than 200 scientific works, including 5 monographs.
