At the beginning of the meeting, K. I. Rubynskyi prize was awarded to the Head of the Book Relics, Valuable Editions and Manuscripts of the Central Scientific Library, Maryna Bobrova, for the special contribution to the theory and practice of librarianship, historical and bibliographic research, and to the Head of the Department of Media Communications of the School of Sociology, Lidiia Starodubtseva.

The First Vice-President Yurii Kholin reported on the internal system of education quality assurance, “Recently, we have witnessed a significant deepening of integration of Ukrainian universities into the European education area and the increase of the priority importance of higher education quality assurance.”

The speaker stressed that the University would create a new structural subdivision responsible for higher education quality assurance, including its compliance with the European standards.

Moreover, Mr. Kholin characterized the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area according to the 2015 revision. “The precondition for the internal quality assurance activity of a higher educational institution is to involve interested parties — primarily, students and employers,” pointed out Mr. Kholin. Besides, the Vice-President said that the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area are focused on the important role of instructors in the educational process — the University faculty who help students plan their educational activities, as well as on the existence of the system of continuous professional level growth of instructors of higher educational institutions, etc.

The Head of the Research Unit, Volodymyr Sukhov, spoke about the work on expanding non-budgetary funds for scientific research.
